How to Easily Get Ad-Free Spotify and Customize Its Appearance

Do you know that you can actually enjoy Spotify without being interrupted by annoying ads? Also, you get a chance to modify the appearance and style. Let me show you how to get this done quickly.

Check If You Have the Correct Spotify Version Installed

First of all, I’ll let you know. You have to ensure that you have Spotify installed from the official website instead of the Microsoft Store version.

Okay. So, how do you know if you have the Microsoft Store version installed?

You go onto your Microsoft Store and going to type in Spotify.
So right here, if we click on the Spotify, you can see that it’s asking me to install Spotify. I already have Spotify installed on this computer, which means I’m not using the Spotify from the Microsoft Store.

So we need to install the Spotify from the official website.

How to Download Spotify from the Official Website

If you want to install Spotify from the official website:

• Go onto your browser
• Type download Spotify
• Just click on this first link right here at the top here
• You want to click on download

As we can see here, we have download directly from Spotify. Proceed to click on this link if you want to download from the official website because I already have Spotify installed. I’m not going to do that. So, I’m just going to minimize this.

As we can see here, I have this Spotify installed. And this is just the basic Spotify.

Installing Spicify to Unlock Customizations

Now, I’m going to show you how to make this changes.

First of all, proceed to minimize this, head back to the browser.
Go to this website spicify.app. I’m going to be leaving this links in the description for you guys.

To proceed, we go right here and install.
Now click on that right here under installation.

We just click on this installation on the left side. We have different options here:

• Windows
• Linux
• Mac OS

Since I’m using Windows here, I’m going to go right to this PowerShell.
We’re going to copy this value right here.
And to do that, just go to the right side here and click on this icon.

After doing that, you can proceed to your search bar.
Now we’re going to search for PowerShell.

Here is the Windows PowerShell.
You don’t have to run as administrator. Click on it.

Go ahead and paste the value right here. Tap enter. Wait for it.

Okay. Now we have this options right here. We have yes and no.
Select Y on your keyboard and tap on enter.

So guys, you have to wait until you get this notification that is done.
Don’t close it until you get this message.

Proceed to X on this.
Now proceed to reopen Spotify.

Confirming Successful Installation

So after reopening your Spotify, you’re going to notice that you have this card icon on the left side here.
This shows that installation process is successful.

The first step right here is to get this extension going.
Now we’re going to click on this icon.

As you can see here, we have:

• Extensions
• Themes
• Snippets
• Apps installed

Blocking Ads on Spotify

Right here under extensions, we’re going to type in ads.

Here we have Adblockify.
Scroll down here.
Click on this icon to install it.

Just click on that.
Select reload now.

After doing that, you will be able to enjoy your music without any interruptions.

Adding Real-Time Lyrics to Spotify

We go to the next one right here.
Go back to this icon.

Now we’ll go to the second extension right here. We’re going to type in lyric.

As seen on the left side here, we have this beautiful lyrics.
Again, click on this icon to install.
Select reload now.

To test this, I’m playing this music, Billy by Michael Jackson.

As seen on the right side here, we have this lyrics playing alongside with this song.

If you go to this icon, click on this lyrics page.
You click on that, you’re going to have a full display of the lyrics.

This is interesting — while listening to your music, you can read and sing along at the same time.

Customizing Spotify with Themes

Now I’m going to show you how to add some themes to this.

I’m going to go back right here to this icon. Click on that.

Explore Themes

Go to Themes and here we have vast majority of options right here you can choose from.

It’s interesting how you can actually use this themes to just change the whole outlook of your Spotify.

Installing the “Comfy” Theme

Of all these themes, type in comfy.
We’ll go for the one in the middle right here — Comfy Legacy.

Scroll down and click on this icon to install.
Reload.

I just like the color of this comfy theme.
It’s nothing bogus, just simple and it’s awesome.

Installing a Blur Theme (Lucid)

Just in case you want something with a blur effect:

• click on the icon again
• go to themes
• search for Lucid
• select this one right here
• click on install
• select reload

Now, beautiful.

As you can see we have this blur effect and slight changes on some of these icons right here.

You can choose any theme of your choice.
There are so many options to choose from.

How to Uninstall Spiceify

If you want to uninstall Spiceify and get back to the regular Spotify music player:

1. Navigate back to the page Spiceify.app
2. Click on uninstallation
3. Under Windows PowerShell, copy this value
4. Proceed to PowerShell and paste it
5. You’re going to get a warning — ignore it and click on paste anyway
6. Follow the instruction to proceed

That is all you have to do to get back to the regular Spotify music player.
